'Fastest-ever Cadillac' speeds into showrooms next month

Tue, 20 Jan 2009
People with a spare £50,000 to spend on buying a car may be excited to hear the most powerful Cadillac ever built is set to arrive in the UK next month.

Powered by 1 6.2 V8 engine, the CTS-V can go from standing to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and boasts a top speed of 191 mph.

The manufacturer reported the model had taken the unofficial lap record for a production saloon at Nurburgring's Nordschleife track last year.

Commenting on Cadillac's latest model, the automaker's director in the UK Jonathan Nash stated: "The V-Series developments take the highly accomplished CTS launched last summer and elevate it to a position within the club of the world's high-performance super-saloons."

Buyers can pick up the manual edition for £56,495 and the automatic version for £58,995.

Meanwhile, Cadillac recently revealed it had designed a special limousine for Barack Obama to ride in during his inauguration today.
