Revised Avensis 'is stylish and economical'

Fri, 05 Dec 2008
People considering buying a car in 2009 may be impressed by the new Toyota Avensis.

The manufacturer said the model "delivers more style, higher performance, improved fuel economy and lower emissions".

Available to buy from January 1st, there will be a choice of saloon and tourer body styles and four equipment grades.

Prices for the car will start at £15,760 on-the-road.

Toyota described the external appearance of the revised model as "contemporary" and "athletic".

It also pointed out the new engine and transmission have resulted in the vehicle offering "significantly better" fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions than its predecessor.

The manufacturer added buyers who opt for the updated Avensis can expect excellent build quality and advanced engineering.

Meanwhile, another Toyota model arriving in showrooms next month is the iQ.

The first generation car - which is less than three metres long - is available to order now and is priced from £9,295.
