More power, lower emissions from new Fiat Bravo 2.0

Mon, 01 Dec 2008
Fiat has announced the extension of its Bravo mid-size hatchback range with the launch of a more powerful - and more economical - engine.

The entire five-door Bravo range will now feature the 165 bhp 2.0 MultiJet unit, the company explains.

Featuring a diesel particulate filter, the powerhouse is capable of delivering greater performance, with torque increased to 360 Newton metres, reduced emissions and lower fuel consumption of 53 mpg over the combined cycle.

Available in two versions - Sport and Dynamic - the engine is not just greener, Fiat notes, stating that it "underscores the liveliness, flexibility and driving pleasure that have always been features of the Bravo".

The Dynamic is priced from £16,855 on the road, while the Sport costs from £17,155.

In other news from the manufacturer, the Fiat Panda Cross was named 4x4 of the Year 2009 by a panel of judges from specialist publication 4x4 and MPV Driver.
