Audi A5 Cabriolet to arrive in showrooms in spring

Thu, 04 Dec 2008
Motorists considering buying a new car in 2009 may want to check out the Audi A5 Cabriolet - which is due to arrive in showrooms in spring.

According to the manufacturer, the vehicle includes a state-of-the-art transmission, chassis configuration and engine.

Commenting on the soft-top, the carmaker explained it can retract in 15 seconds and go up again in 17 - which is pointed out could prove useful given the kind of summers we get in Britain.

Audi stated: "Roof up or down, the A5 Cabriolet makes light work of transporting up to four adults in comfort - thanks to its extended wheelbase, which helps to maximise cabin space."

Interested parties will be able to place an order for the model in February, with prices starting at less than £30,000.

Meanwhile, Audi announced last month that it was launching an A5 coupe which is capable of achieving fuel economy of 53 mpg.
