Focus fans need to get themselves into gear

Thu, 11 Sep 2008
Those buying a car in the coming months who are considering a Ford Focus RS may be well advised to contact a dealer and get their name down on the waiting list.

Since the model made its debut in London earlier this year at the British International Motor Show, the manufacturer claims it has been inundated with enquiries.

Indeed, some 1,000 drivers have already placed advance orders despite the fact the cars will not roll into showrooms until early 2009.

Ford spokesperson Roelant de Waard said: "We're delighted by the reaction of performance car enthusiasts to the new Focus RS."

Although the range of colours on offer have not been confirmed yet, the electric green shade which was unveiled in London has proved popular, with 40 per cent of those making an advance order requesting that particular hue.

Frozen white and electric blue have also been firm favourites among UK motorists.

In other motoring news, Ford has revealed it will be displaying the revised Ka at next month's motor show in Paris.
