Two millionth Fabia produced by Skoda

Thu, 24 Apr 2008
Czech automobile manufacturer Skoda has produced the two millionth unit of its Skoda Fabia line.

The company has revealed that the milestone vehicle was a Satin Grey Fabia Estate 1.4-litre 16-valve model.

It added that since the first Fabia was launched in 2000 it sold close to 1.8 million before the second version was introduced in the early part of last year.

The latest iteration of the model is the 1.4 TDI Fabia GreenLine, which emits 109g per km CO2 and 69 miles per gallon on the combined cycle.

"GreenLine models not only do their bit for the environment but should also make forecourt trips mercifully infrequent. Buyers can opt for either hatchback or estate versions," Skoda commented.

This comes as the firm this week announced 2008 sales figures ahead of expectations.

Its Octavia model sold close to 71,000 in the first three months of the year.ADNFCR-1081-ID-18566825-ADNFCR
