February sales see Skoda register increase

Auto manufacturer Skoda registered an increase in sales over the course of last month, new figures have shown.

The Czech car maker sold some 52,916 vehicles last month, representing a hike of 19.4 per cent compared to February 2007.

High sales were achieved in Germany, where Skoda sold 8,583 units, while sales in Russia reached 3,055 and Romania 2,030.

Indeed, an increase of 44.6 per cent in sales volume with recorded across eastern Europe and 2.4 per cent in western Europe.

The Octavia was the most popular car among buyers last month, registered by 27,012 new customers, followed by the Fabia and Roadster models.

Meanwhile, the Skoda Octavia picked up another achievement this month after being named Britain favourite car in the Auto Express Driver Power Survey.
