New Boxster 'harks Porsche racing legacy'

Tue, 27 Nov 2007
The newest edition of the Boxster from automobile manufacturer Porsche comes close to the racing car standards the firm set in the 1960s, the company has claimed.

Although performance differs from vehicles such as the Type 718 RS 60 and Boxster S, the automaker believes it strongly represents the ideology and design rules it set over the decade.

"In its distinctive design, features and philosophy, the Boxster RS 60 Spyder echoes the classic motorsport era of the 1960s, and in particular the success of Porsche sports cars during that period," commented Porsche.

The vehicle comes with a Carrera Red leather interior and a GT Silver Metallic exterior, while it also features 19-inch allots, dual tailpipes and a modified sports exhaust engine.

Porsche enjoyed less success at a recent race meet at Santa Pod in Bournemouth, according to Carpages.

Its 997 Carrera S was beaten for speed by a 42-year-old Volkswagen Beetle at the event, the site reported.ADNFCR-1081-ID-18371248-ADNFCR
