Record numbers achieved as Lexus hybrids sell well

Mon, 15 Oct 2007
Lexus has announced that its sales of hybrid vehicles have seen it break company records.

The Japanese manufacturer, a subsidiary of Toyota, sold 3,381 units over the month of September - the highest single-month amount it has ever achieved.

It added that 28 per cent of the vehicles it has sold are energy-efficient hybrid cars, with its RX 400h its biggest-selling model across Europe.

Steve Settle, director at the firm, commented on what it is that sets Lexus apart from the crowd.

He said: "Our advanced technology strategy is proving its value, quality, effectiveness and reliability, helping make Lexus the first choice for an ever greater number."

Last year, the automaker finished top of a paper in vehicle reliability conducted by JD Power and Associates.

The Vehicle Dependability Study saw the brand named most reliable in the US.ADNFCR-1081-ID-18316857-ADNFCR
