Mondeo picks up Scottish car gong

Mon, 29 Oct 2007
The Ford Mondeo has been named Scotland's favourite car of 2007 by a motor industry panel.

Association of Scottish Motoring Writers representatives chose the vehicle as the country's best over the course of the year, also awarding it the family car gong.

Ian Slater, Ford of Europe vice president of communication and public affairs, said that the evening's events had left him "thrilled".

"Winning the family car category further underlines that Ford is hitting the right target markets and I would like to thank the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers for the two awards," said the official.

This is Ford's latest success at the award's ceremony, having picked up the Scottish MPV of 2006 gong for its S-MAX as well as the overall prize in 1998 for the Mondeo.

Consumers have been able to drive the model from Ford dealerships since it made its debut in 1993.ADNFCR-1081-ID-18334136-ADNFCR
