Mazda 5 - Mazda5 2010 diesel: Very poor mpg - kmberkshire

Hi,

I have purchased a Mazda5 2.0 TS 2010 diesel from a third party dealer last week. The car has done 13k miles and appears to be in good condition.

I have no issues apart from the fact that the mileage is incredibly poor. Having driven it for 150 miles on a mixture of motorway and local, it has nearly consumed 30 litres, which is very high. That is roughly 21 mpg.

I have checked the tyre pressure and both front and rear are at 33 psi. I have a young family and so, the weight of the combined family will not exceed 200-250 kg.

Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Take it back and ask them to sort it out. Their problem under Sale of Goods.

I am curious as to how did you got on, as I am considering buying one...

21mpg sounds very low... have your reconfirmed this since?

How are the tyres looking? I am concerned about tyre wear with these cars.

any opinion appreciated.

how did you get on re the mpg? we have a 2.0l diesel 59 reg and had it about a year,

it is on about 38 mpg..
