Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCI - Warning light - pork_pie

Started the car today and the "yellow oil can over water" symbol flashed. In the handbook it says "Diesel in engine oil" but the multi information display says "Change Engine Oil. Service Due"

The car was registered on 28th Nov 2011 and its booked in for its first service on 27th Dec 2012 (well within the one month window for the warranty)

The dealer said that there is nothign to worry about as the display says that the service is due and after a year, the light is timed to flash until it has had its service. Can anyone confirm this. The next time I will drive the car is for its service (a 50 mile trip)

Check the oil level and ensure that any diesel fuel dumped into the sump by the DPF regeneration has not caused the sump to become overfilled!

Good point. If so then the car will need a carry to the garage. It needs servicing.

The oil level is fine - bang on maximum. A second dealership confirmed that the light is timed to come on if its due a service unless the oil is diluted with diesel which in is not the case here.
