Renault Clio Campus Sport 1.2 (56 Reg) - Looking to sell, but I've lost my service history - ok_cub2008

Hi there,

I'm looking to sell my 2006 Renault Clio Campus Sport 1.2 (56 Reg) - but I noticed today that my service history book seems to have gone walkies. I bought the car second hand in Jan 2010, and I have all its MOT certificates and receipts/details of services to the car since I bought it - but no service book as such. It definitely had a service book when I bought it...

Is there anything I can do to rectify the fact I have no service book? I was thinking perhaps if the previous owners had it serviced at an official Renault garage then Renault might have the service history details stored somewhere electronically.

I'm obviously anxious that I might lose a lot of value in my car by not having the service book, so any ideas would be appreciated!

A 6-year old car with 2 previous owners - no-one will expect to get a service history if they buy it, I shouldn't worry about it!

Well I would for one.

You should still be able to sell it, but you'll get a better price if you can trace the service history.

If the car's out of it's manufacturers' warranty, I don't recall ever being asked by a saleman if it has any service history - and when I offer it it doesn't get a better p/x offer.

Having seen a couple of forged service histories, one very convincing, I certainly don't regard them as important - how can they be relied on anyway?

If you've got all the receipts for service and MOT work the service book is irrelevant.
