V70 T5 2002 - Premature failure of front lower wishbone bushes - speedycar53

I had the lower suspension wishbones replaced about 17 months ago on this 2002 model and to my dismay, they are already completely knackered on both sides. Klunking sounds, dubious steering and 2 new tyres required. MOT 6 months ago - no relevant issues. I am a normal steady driver so am rather puzzled.

Any ideas why they should fail so dramatically? Do I have any recourse? Used an independent garage with a good reputation.
