vauxhall corsa 1.4 2004 auto - 04 Plate Vauxhall Corsa Starting Problems - Julie74

Hi

At the end of last year, I was having problems with my Corsa as it was losing power whilst driving and kept cutting out on me. I took it to my local garage who informed me that I needed to have a new computer board fitted. I was advised to take it to my local Vauxhall garage.

I took it to them and they confirm that I need the new computer board, at a nice price of £1000. I had the work done and picked the car up once it was complete. A few weeks later I started having problems with starting it. I would go to start it and it would tick over like it wanted to start but nothing would happen. Eventually atfter several attempts, it would start.

I took it back to vauxhall and they put it back on the dianogsitc machine but it said that nothing was wrong with it. They said that they had tried several times during the day and it was fine.

But ever since it is just the same, I could go out there and try it and it would start, I can go to where I'm going (shops) get back in and it won't start for 10-15 minutes.

I've tried turning the key slowley and letting the dash lights go off and then try to start with with only the enginge management light (i think) and the oil can light left on. It will either start straight away or the enginge management light flashes and then sometimes it kicks in. All this time the engin is ticking over slowly.

I'm not really sure what to do now.

Thanks

Julie

I wouldn't consider all Vauxhall dealers crooks.

In your position I'd be looking at independent advice, and local law firms.
