Volvo V70 D5 (245/45-R17 99W) - Volvo V70 spare wheel! Where to get a suitable spa - Quicksilver

Hi Everybody,

I need some help!

Yesterday I suffered a catastrophic puncture that destroyed the sidewall of the tyre. The car only has a tin of repair gunk and no spare, (not even a space saver!). I was stranded for hours and vowed I would not let this happen again.

I need to find a cheap spare wheel, (not a space saver) that I can put in the back. There is a spare wheel well for a spare but not sure how big a wheel I can get in.

Thinking of all options but a scraped car is probably the best bet in terms of price.

Car is a lease Volvo V70, (October 2011 registered) with 245/45-R17 (99W) tyres.

Options on this car are 16”, 17” and 18” wheels. All are alloys with no steel options available in the UK. There are probably steel options available in other markets.

What other car wheels would fit this car, (Ford Mondeo?, Vauxhall Vectra? etc.). Obviously something OK from a scrapped car would be OK.

I would like to spend as little as possible but need to get something that fits this car. Does anybody have any suggestions as to the correct specifications I need and what common cars use the same size of wheels.

Thanks in advance,

It's not just the size of wheel that's important, the offset and pcd ( hole centres) have to be spot on. I think you would be better getting the correct volvo wheel from a specialist breaker.

Yes I was thinking this as well. The wheel has 5 bolt fixing.

Is there any easy way to find out what the offset and PCD would be and then to compare with other wheels?

Thanks,
