Peugeot 307 1.6 16V 2004 model petrol, automatic - Surging RPM problem - koliva

Hello everyone,

I have a Peugeot 307 1.6 16V 2004 model petrol, automatic (AL4).

Here is the problem:

When I am driving downhill in the second gear and at around 1100-1300 rpm, rpm counter surges to 2200 rpm and goes back down where it starts and it does this exactly 3 times whenever I try. It doesn't appear when I am driving downhill in the 2,5th or 3rd gear or higher.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have what may be a similar problem.

I just bought a 2006 307 XSE wagon (petrol) with the AL4 tiptronic auto transmission. It's been fully serviced by Peugeot and has done 55k km.

The transmission has become a bit jerky and occasionally when stationary it cannot immediately find 1st (or reverse) when I move it into drive. If I rev it a bit it pops into gear and jerks.

It's not yet a serious problem, but how much should I be sweating? Is there anything I should do?
