Is it just me or do other people have trouble spotting someone has their indicator on when they are sideways on if the indicator is built into their door mirror?

Seems too high and too far away from the front (I normally look at the front of other cars to get an idea of where they are planning to go - I find the middle gives little away).

Also when you smash them against someone elses mirror in a narrow road I bet they are quite expensive to replace.
