The passenger side windscreen wiper does a single wipe occassionally when the doors are unlocked. Yesterday it did it after the doors had been unlocked for some time but when the driver's side door was opened. Does anyone know the cause/fix?

As it's the lower arm when it does happen the blade catches on thge upper blade and is torn off, somethimnes requiring a new blade. Have tried changing to the spare remote but same happens with that.

Could prevent the blade from being ripped off by making the offending arm the upper one. However tried to get the arms off without succeess. Have removed the fixing nuts but wont come off. Is the arm fixed some other way too?

Help on either issue would be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Derek

As for getting the wiper arms off, google/ebay 'wiper puller'

Interesting link McP.

Lots of PSA group cars of this era would perform one single sweep of the wipers when in delivery mode when the ingition was turned on...ie before the main fuse is put in at PDI, we'd have to be careful if we started one during severe weather if the wipers were frozen to the screen.

I don't know if disconnecting the battery might help perform a reset or is there another reset method?, maybe you could check the (yellow from memory?) master fuse is OK.

Part of the fun of modern electronics..;)
