Toyota Auris - 205/55 R15 91V - Need advice for value replacement tyres - godsakes

I'll probably have to replace my tyres within a few months.. can anyone advise me of the best value brands/models? My father in law suggested Michelin but they seem to be £130 odd per tyre! are they really worth it?

I have 205/55 R16 91W tyres on my Skoda Superb and I've tried many makes. Bridgestone lasted 18k, Goodyear about 22k Michelin Primacy 32k! So yes I think they are worth it.

Try online sites such as blackcircles.com. My last pair of Michelins were about £90 fitted.

thanks for the reply, afriad blackcircles are coming back with £124-136 depending on whether i want them fitting.... don't suppose 4 for 3 deals come on from time to time?

Tesco have partnered with Blackcircles - Tesco-tyres.com - where you can get Clubcard points on your tyre purchase, if that is of interest. Prices seem similar to the normal Blackcircles site.

I have 205/55 16's on my Auris. In the last quarter of 2011, Which? recommended the following tyres in this size as Best Buys (in descending order): Continental Conti PremiumContact 2 (test score 69%); Uniroyal RainSport 2 (68%); Michelin Primacy HP (68%); Bridgestone Turanza ER300 (67%); Nokian Z G2 (67%).

Plus around a tenner a tyre to fit, assuming you can find somewhere that'll fit them (a lot of tyre places won't fit tyres you haven't bought off them).

I was tyre shopping last night, and Tesco tyres were reasonable - within a few quid of the local guys. 4x Clubcard points on Pirelli, Hankook and Yokohama at the moment, too.

Put Kumho KU31 on wifes C-Max, great tyre for money, about £55.00 all in at the time. Way quieter than Pirelli P7 and Cont Sport 3 plus they were wearing better as well, fronts looked like getting to 30,000 miles. Good grip in dry and wet, never tried in snow. Link to Event-Tyres, great to deal with, fit at home or work, most careful fitter with alloys I have ever witnessed.

We put some Kumho Ecsta KU31's on our Mazda 2 in August (195/45 16 V). Quieter than previous tyres (Pirelli P Zero Nero) and ride seems less harsh.

29 on the Camskill site is not that many, especially when you filter to the correct speed and loading ratings - many of the 29 are also out of stock. This suggests to me the 205-55-15 is quite an unusual size, hence the higher prices.

As a comparison in 205-55-16 Camskill have a choice from 209!

I had a similar problem with my A2 which had a strange size, back then only 3 types were available so prices were higher than more popular sizes.

Despite this I would recommend Camskill - used them in the past and service is excellent.
