Chevrolet Lacetti 1.4 SE - Engine Management Light - iceman55

I have owned a Chevrolet Lacetti 1.4 SE from new and it is now 2 years 9 months old.It has fully service history and has done 21000 miles.Recently the engine management light has come and I took it to the main dealer.Before I did this the light went out.The dealer replaced the coils and spark plugs.However even after this repair the light has been coming on and off at random! It has a tendency to come on after I have filled up with petrol.I use Shell unleaded but on the dealers advice I am trying Shell V Power with some Redex in the tank as well.The light is still coming on and off at random.During this time I have noticed no lack of performance,sluggishnes etc.My warranty expires in March 2012 so I would be grateful if somebody could come up with a solution to my problem.Hers hoping iceman55

If you are doing lots of short journeys.. and your mileage suggests you are, it is likely the EGR valve is carbonned up or your injectors are ditto. V Power has a larger than normal detergent additives - which suggest your garage think the same.

Strip and clean EGR valve is one option but may not be teh cause.

Do you accelerate hard or drive gently?
