jaguar x-type - handbrake pivot in caliper - atrier

On the early petrol FWD cars the Bosch rear calliper has a handbrake which operates by pushing the pads using a pivot buried in the caliper. Does anyone know if the pivot is metal to metal (in which case I can put on a drop of engine oil) or is there a hidden plastic bush that would be damaged by oil? Also, the handbrake cable at the calliper has its end protected by a rubber shield. Would "rubber grease" be a suitable lubricant for this cable?

Any help much appreciated.
