Mazda Demio - Porous alloy wheels - Ray Harvey

My wheels are £ are going flat (well down to 12 psi) in about 10 days. I have read a lot about painting the interior of the wheels, ensuring that the surface between the tyre and the rim hasn't deteriorated etc.

The simple solution it appears to me is to fit inner tubes.

Is this feasible and safe?
