The ABS light of my daughters Almera has been comming on and going off for a while now. Generally light on all the time but does go out occassionally for a day or so then back on again. Took it to our local garage but they could not test it as they had the wrong connector, 16 pin not 14 pin as fitted.

Looked on net for answers and followed the self test procedure from here. The code I got was 55 which is this fault "Rear left hand outlet of solenoid valve", according to fault list found on another site. How easy is this to fix? Does the gubbins under the bonnet give trouble, as they are extortinate to replace, nearly £1900, car not worth it.

Have removed sensor and all seems ok with that, would have thought I would have got a different code if sensor faulty. Each time i tried got the same code. Any ideas, help or advice much appreciated.
