Peugeot 206 Popart - Service and Safety - deeroxgal

Hi. I am from South Africa, bought a Peugeot 206 2005 model from a dealership in July 2010. SInce then i have endless problems, which, i must say, a lack of assistance was forthcoming from the said dealership. i believe that i was sold a defect car in that the clutch kit broke not even three months after buyin it. NO proof of COR was given to me, or repairs that was done when i sent it in for the service, where there was a heating / cooling problem, then the cylinder head blew, exhaust was broken, geear linkage broken, manifold gaskit cracked..i dont even know how much more faults this car must have. Please advise me what else to do as i am still paying the car off and will lose out if i sell it now. these cars are not safe for a female and i want a mechancial explanation as to how soon cars like these fall apart. it is only doing 140 000 kms and the cylinder head blew. iv never even driven this car fast for these things to break in this car.

Welcome to the forum I'm not sure how much help we can be to you unless anyone is aware of the sale of goods legislation in SA. In the UK you would have to establish that the defects were there when you bought the car, which is likely in the case of the clutch but probably not the other problems.

The most likely explanation is that the car was abused or neglected (or both) by the previous owner(s). French cars are generally more vulnerable than most to abuse: there are lots of Japanese cars in SA and you're probably best advised to go for one of those next time.
