Any - Experts what is the mastic called? - Hairstrokes

Ok, what is the grey automotive mastic called, and where can it be purchased, not normal mastic, but the stuf that is sort of like plasticine/blue tack, it never goes hard, and is not really sticky.

Its used on most cars, and its waterproof.

I reckon it will be is a small tub or something, as its nothing like a sealant or normal mastic, more like a putty.

I have tried lots of shops, but they just dont know?

Most automotive places use a company called Wurth. I've not dealt with them for years, but I remember that the catalogue was full of these tapes and adhesives, not available elsewhere. Not cheap, but good quality.

Update:

They appear to only deal with the trade. The website catalogue only hints at the product range. A search shows some of the products you might be after are sold on Ebay. (I searched for "Wurth sealant" ) You want the body sealers, I suspect.

Not sure what product you need - but a local body shop /paint supplier will likely help. I also find my local Brown Brothers chaps to be very helpful & good value too.

Or this stuff, used it on the LandRover when we did it up - postage is expensive but Google might get you a supplier near to you.

Hello Peter, no that's not it, that is more like seam sealer, that goes in a gun... This stuff is more like the dum dum posted below,

You find it all over the place in cars, inside door trims, and under clips and things, really handy stuff..... it never cures, and is not sticky... It always seems to be grey too
