Renault Scenic - choosing a car quick help needed MPV - vegasbaby

Hi Basiclly our last car was a write off after we were smashed into on the motorway a renault megane sport saloon 1.5 DCI

We are now looking at the

renault Scenic 1.6vvt petrol, 2008

Kia Carnes 2.0 petrol 2008

Cauxhall meriva 1.4 petrol 2008

vauxhall zafira 1.6 petrol 2008 or possible the 1.8

Any feedback on what one is best in terms of reliability if any and any experience or knowledge

I ldont have a great knowledge to be ho9nest and each dealer tells you that the others are rubbish and their ar the best

Kia best for reliability. Check all fuel consumptions and insurance groups..

There's quite a difference between the 2.0l and the others.

My son has a scruffy 10 year old 1.6 Zafira, its done 100k miles with him having done 60k of them. It's been serviced on an irregular basis and always as cheaply as possible. He's had to replace discs and pads, back box and a battery but nothing major has gone wrong in 7 years. I've driven it and the engine is surprisingly smooth and has enough poke to get about quite nicely. He gets high 30s on a run. If it departs this planet tomorrow he's had his money's worth.
