Hi all,I am very confused can you help pl,ease? Have just purchased a fiat punto 1.2 8 valve and it was registered in September 2003. Is this car a MK 2 or 3 My main concern is that I am told by different people that I should have a red master key with it, and if I have not got one I could be in trouble one day starting my car. I only have one blue key . Could someone please give me some information about this model regarding keys .Is this model supplied with a red key? I can only lock the car with the key there is no fob. I hope I have not purchased a Lemon!!!!

No red key for mark 2s. Get new keys programmed from your original.

Is your car a facelift model ie the slightly surprised looking grille, or just where the bonnet turns down to meet the bumper all of the way along the leading edge?

Hi thanks for getting back to me. My car has a long grill with the fiat badge on. The grill is fitted to the bonnet and when the bonnet is opened the grill comes up with the bonnet. When closed the outer edges of the bonnet touch the bumper and also the grill touches the bumper. It has large headlights fitted. Is this a Mark 3 and does it need a red master key?

IIRC if you look at the metal part of the blue key you'll see a triangle with two circles stamped in it. If there is a number 2 underneath that means it's a type 2 transponder with no red key.

Hi again thanks for your help and continued support. My ke has the markings and number 2 on. As the car was registered sept 03 I take it that it is a MK3.Once again thanks
