Vauxhall Meriva - Mysterious Oil Patch - AlanJ1952

Took delivery of my brand new Meriva 1.4 (140) last week and immediately found a growing oil patch on my drive. My drive is very steep and the car is parked uphill, the patch was under the drivers side of the engine. The AA man who came on day three could not work out where it was coming from and suggested taking it to the dealer if it persisted. However no further leakage has happened. Anyone any idea what this might be and also recommend how I get the stain off of my new key block drive.

Have you checked your oil is up to the mark on level ground with a warm engine (after 5 to 10 minutes standing)?

I've removed oil stains on block drives by applying a liberal dose of washing-up liquid and leaving it to soak in for a couple of days. On one occasion, overnight rain meant I didn't have to rinse it off.

I've removed paint by turning the blocks over.
