Any? - Advice on nippy small frugal car, Any experts? - focusa

I have been looking at a few cars but i'm sure i'm missing something.

I need a small car 3 door prefered diesel prefered and has to be over 04 plate, I'm easy on make and even petrol is considered.

The cars i have looked at are fabia VRS

Mitsubishi colt 1.5 DI-D

Corsa 1.7 cdti

All excellent mpg and nippy

Is there anything i'm missing?

I really want a car 0-60 in under 10 seconds where i live you have to be able to pull out quick.

Budget? How about something like a Fiat Punto multijet diesel or petrol sporting?

A Fabia vRS would make a great choice best of the list you have there

Yeah sorry budget of about 4000, Yaris sounds good as does the vrs but the look of the car turns me off :(

The yaris seems to fit the bill, Not keen on the punto i'm just thinking there is something a little better on fuel out there.

The car is rarely full its had more than 3 seats used about once in the past 4 months

I agree with the Yaris as a front-runner: you should cosider the 1.3 petrol as it's quite economical and there are more of them around. Small diesels don't sell very well, at least not in the UK.

If you want nippy, don't go for a Corsa - nothing nippy about it, whatever the engine. But some form of Fiesta is surely worth a look. There are more Fiesta diesels about compared with, say, the Yaris, simply because there are many more Fiestas sold. Unfortunately many are sold to fleets and could have been caned.

VW Polo TDI 100? Should be a really quick car relatively of course..

Or the equivalent Seat Ibiza which is almost the same except usually costs less to buy than the VW.This one seems nice quick too

I was under the impression the 1.7 cdti was quite nippy most of the fiesta's i have seen are very slow and pulling out where i live is a real pain thats why i'm trying to find a car with a little better set off than my focus tdci 115.
Thanks for the suggestions tho guys still thinking either vrs corsa or colt...

if your thinking of the fabia vrs. (with its 130hp 1.9 engine)

also makes sense to scout around for

polo 130 and ibiza Fr.

(both use the same engine...)

grp 9 insurance 0-60 9ish and over 50mpg.....(vrs fabia has a 6 speed gearbox)

someone said they didn't make a nippy corsa for 4k budget...they did knock out a 1800cc sri model.....
