Peugeot 405 Diesel Saloon - Boot Lock Stuck in Lock Position - mph_turbo

The boot lock on my Peugeot 405 will not open using the central locking or with the key.I have no access to the boot area apart from through the ski hatch..

I think that the lock actuator might be jammed

I have tried loads of easing oil.

Is there any easy way around this or is it a matter of having to drill out the lock barrel?

Thanks

Peugeot 405 Diesel Saloon - Boot Lock Stuck in Lock Position - gisle

Hi, I have a Peugeot 405 1993. I am working on the boot lock myself right now actually because the lock cylinder is rusty and jammed. Fortunately the boot was unlocked so I don't have the same problem as you. If you manage to take out the back seats, it should be possible for you to unlock the boot from inside. I guess you'll have to remove the trimming plastic panel in the very back of the boot or maybe you will be able to reach the lock through the jacking lid.

Good luck! Call me if you wonder how it works on the inside. I have just opened mine.

Peugeot 405 Diesel Saloon - Boot Lock Stuck in Lock Position - mph_turbo

Hi,

Just after getting my boot opened!

Working through the ski hatch and using an electric drill attached to a short pole, I drilled out a small square from the plastic trim panel that covers the lock. This allowed me to be able to push the lock lever to open the boot!
