MINI Cooper D - belt or chain? - Pat L

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this. I have recently bought March 2008 Cooper D and in the service book there is no mention of cambelt replacement.

Thanks Andy, but is that the more recent model?

Just found this in cbcb:

"Unveiled to public at Geneva Motor show on 8th March 2007. Has belt cam PSA 1.6-litre 110hp turbodiesel engine."

So, if it does have a belt does anyone know the intervals? Strange that there's no mention in the service book.

Look on HJ car reviews it says the diesel was replaced from the PSA cam belt engine to the N47 chain cam engine in 2007.If it does have a cam belt then the change intervals for a 1.6hdi are 150kmiles but its easy enough to look under the bonnet and see what type it is.
