Pug 306 HDI - 306 HDI cutting out at 3000rpm - El_tel

Hi,

I've had a problem with my 306 HDi Meridian '99 (X Reg) cutting out. Having recently changed several sensors Camshaft, air flow and a few others the problems hasn't gone away!

Whilst driving for some reason it cuts out when it hits 3000rpm but when sitting idle it will rev over 3000rpm without cutting out!

I was just wondering if there was anyone that may have had a similar experience or may know what it could be that's causing this to cut out.

Has anyone got a wiring diagram for the engine or know where i can get one?

Any information is greatly received.

Apologies if I may sound vague but my car knowledge is limited!

Many thanks from a very frustrated 306 owner!

By cutting out u mean going into limp mode? Does it go fine till 3000rpm, as in accelerates well and then dies or it goes like crap and then dies? :).

To me it sounds like overboost problem. If it is overboost problem the fault lies in electromagnetic valve at the bulkhead, left one with grey connector. What i would try if i were u, i would disconnect the tube leading to turbo from the valve. Rubber thingie, it leads somewhere behind the engine (other tube is leading to brake cylinder). Dont disconnct the connector though. When u disconnect it, take it for a ride. The car should be sluggish but if it doesnt cut out on 3000rps u found ur fault!

The reason for that is that is the emv isnt working properly, as in letting vacuum through all the time, the wastegate is allways closed shich results in overboost. By disconnecting the rubber tube u make sure the wastegate actuator isnt getting vacuum and therefore it allways stays open and overboost cant happen.
