Ford Mondeo 1.8L 2001 Estate - CENTRAL LOCKING IN 2001 MONDEO - Belsizekid

Hi. Since the cold weather begun, I have been having problems with my central locking on my 51 plate Mondeo. It locks and unlocks itself at random, stationary and driving. This has also coincided with me turning on the individual child locks on each of the rear doors (I have subsequently turned them off, as I thought the problem might be related to this). I've taken the car to a good garage (SLC in Plymouth) but they could not diagnose any obvious problems - no faults or alarms etc. Any clues as to what the problem is and how to stop it? Thanks.

Most central locking faults on mondeo/focus models are caused by problems with the doorlock actuators on the front doors .Most commonly the drivers door.I have recently had similar problems on my own mondeo estate .Replaced drivers door lock actuator and all is well.2 weeks later the o/s/r door packed up and had to replace that one also.hth
