I can't get coolant flowing through my matrix.

There are no air blocks and I've recently replaced the matrix, water pump and thermostat; and also flushed the whole system numerously.

I can only get flow through the matrix when the matrix bleed srew is off. This and the fact that the outlet hose from the matrix is cold has led me to think that there is a blockage in the coolant manifold.

When you remove the matrix outlet hose from the coolant manifold the nozzle on the manifold seems to be a dead end - by this I mean I've managed to stick my finger in it and there is an immovable metal plate.

Has anyone got any idea's?

No need for anyone to reply to this thread now as I've solved the problem.

The hose from the expansion tank was attached to the inlet where the matrix outlet hose should have been attached.

Swapped them around now all is warm.

I can only assume when the first cambelt change was carried out in 2006 that whoever detached the hoses to drop the engine got frazzled and put them back on wrong.
