Peugeot 307 - Peugeot 307 2003 not starting - dan1309

Right...I have a Manual Peugeot 307 LX HDI (2003 Reg) 1398 Diesel, to be fair I haven't had loads of issues with it but one recurring problem seems to be a lack of wanting to start! I hear the solenoid click but the starter motor won't then turn over, it doesn't even try.

I originally thought it was the starter motor (as you would) and had this changed about 4 months ago...the issue seemed to be resolved up until about 2 weeks ago when it started to play up again! I do have the car booked into a garage to look at the starter motor again, but I get the feeling it's not the issue.

Any thoughts? Oh and PS. I can bump start the car ok.

Sounds like the battery. If you have got a voltmeter put is across the battery and record the voltage when cranking the starter. if it drops much below 10V the batteries shot.

I changed the battery just before changing the starter motor last time...that was my first thought too :-(

I have the same problem with my 1.4 307 diesel, did changing the starter motor resolve yours? So far i have changed the battery and glow plugs but still doesnt turn over though starts of a bump start..... cheers
