VW Golf - VW DSG Transmission. - David 1956

My VW garage recently drained the transmission fluid from my DSG and replaced both the oil and filter. However, they said the oil would have to cool to 31 degrees before they could drain it. Needless to say my car was in the garage for 6 hours cooling down -- I had only driven 7 miles from a cold start to the garage, which in theory, shouldn't have truly brought the oil up to operating temperature. The garage states this is VW's policy for DSGs. Has anyone else heard of this please?
