190e mercedes - abs leads on a 1990 190e mercedes - claireclk

does anyone know where i look for the two leads for the abs, i have a mot due on the 16th july and i know this will come into it. at present i have no abs working on the car as the previous owner had a problem with the light staying on so they disconnected the leads but i dont know where to look to find them. many thanks .

Not exactly sure what leads you are talking about,but is the Abs light on the dash illuminating?If not ,then it is possible that the warning light on the dash pod has been disabled.The leads to the bulb holder may have been cut.The Abs system on these is not difficult to fix ,however there is no self diagnostic function on this system so it would be advisable to take it to an MB specialist familiar with older models.hth

no the light is not illuminating, thankyou for your help do you know where i would find the bulb holder to see if these leads have been cut. ?

thankyou for your help, no the abs light is not illuminating, do you know where the bulb holder is situated so that i could check if the leads have been cut ? claire.

You will need to pull the instrument pod forward.There are no screws holding it to the dash but it a very good idea to use the proper MB release "hook tools".There is not a lot of clearance here as the speedo cable prevents the pod from coming out very easily.Suggest you get an expert to take a look.The Abs warning light is a small bulb and holder that pushes into the relevant location in the pod.There are 2 wires attached to it.hth

thanks for your help have done as you stated and some really nice person who owned the car before me has disconnected the abs cables obviously as the light wouldnt go out.
