Peugeot Expert van - Electronic Milometer - overider

Hi I have a low mileage Peugeot expert van. The milometer first started only showing the top or bottom half of the led reading. However it has now stopped working all-together. I have taken the instrument panel out to check for any loose fitting but nothing. My question is, if I fit a second hand instrument panel will it still show my low mileage or will it show the mileage of the last vehicle it was in?

Some of these modules have to be programmed into the ecu I had this problem with a Mercedes there are plenty of people advertising in Autotrader who deal with dashboards perhaps its worth asking one of these people.
