Choice of warranty on used car - hcm

I've just bought an approved Toyota from a dealer who is part of the Arnold Clark group. I've been offered a choice of two warranties: either a one year Toyota or a one year Arnold Clark warranty.

To slightly confuse things with the latter option I have the option of extending it to two years for an extra £100.

I'm waiting to get a booklet explaining what is/isn't covered on the Clark option and will contact Toyota for something similar. In the meantime does anyone have any thoughts on which is the best option?

Thanks

Without seeing the wordings and comparing them I don't feel we can answer that one!

I take it its over 3 years old? Otherwise it would be covered by the Toyota warranty anyhow (if UK based)...

Yes - it's over three years old.

Then all you can do is compare them.

Yes - that thought had crossed my mind.

I asked in case there was someone on this forum who knew as I don't have that long to decide.

Or you could go for a third party warranty with Warranty Direct or similar.

A 12 month Toyota Approved waranty forms part of the Toyota Approved program so the car should be supplied with one of these. See www.toyota.co.uk "menu"; "used cars" . If AC is offering you a choice, then you would need to compare parts cover, claim limit, labour charges, XS. etc

Good reading!
