Audi A4 - audi a4 1.8.adr engine - piff71

Hi i have an audi a4 1.8 estate adr engine it will not idle when cold,it stalls when stopped at traffic lights ,the fuel consumption is really high i have tried a new maf sensor but no change the fault codes i have are as follows 17953,17967,01165,16486,17913 any help would be appreciated

hi. quick search brings up the following.

17953 = throttle position control malfunction

17967 = idle speed control throttle position adaptation malfunction.

01165 = 01165 TB Control Module (J338) 11-00 Control limit not reached.

16486 = mass or volume airflow circuit low input

17913 = closed throttle position, does not close or open.

what they all mean, i don't know.

have you tried clearing the codes, run engine and then recheck the codes.

looking on other forums they mention that the throttle body and the air mass sensor as the main culprits, could also be wiring or plug connection faults
