Chrysler Grand Voyager - fault code reader - dave1973

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help I have a 2005 2.8 crd voyager and would like to buy a fault code reader. I have seen some on the net from the US but am unsure of what communication protocol the voyager uses, can anyone tell me if it is obdII or something different. Also a friend of mine is looking at buying a dodge ram with a cummins 6.7 diesel, I work for cummins uk as a feild tech but have been told that i wont be able to communicate to it with cummins insite7.4 is this true or not? any help would be appreciated, please feel free to mail me on dave.brennan@cummins.com

Probably OBDii. I also asked about code readers: the feedback can be seen from mine and other posters previous posts. It is worth asking the manufacturers perhaps: i.e. autel, launch, gendan etc. I would think that they would be compatable; As for US vehicles: at a guess, I would say yes based on the fact that many of these diagnostic units are made in America or have instructions obviously written there. Again, worth checking directly with the manufacturer for your ease of mind!
