Peugeot 406 2.0 hdi 2002hi, my 2.0l hdi 406 2002, - 406 hdi screeching/crackle - jon1967

hi, my 2.0l hdi 406 2002, 207k has a screeching/crackling noise on start up until fully warmed up. It's coming from a pully which is driven by the cam belt, it is high up on the front of the engine. i think it drives the fuel pump...? Any help please
