Received delivery of a new car on a 3 year lease in November 2008. Since day one it had a creaking noise from the front near the windscreen. I mentioned this when it when for other warranty and the car has been taken to a body shop for welding to the bulk head?

I’ve got a reasonable courtesy car, so I’m not unduly inconvenienced but wondered what your opinion was on the welds to the bulk head? Should I be concerned. Seems a bit drastic for a creaking noise and wonder if more is going on? I don’t feel I am getting the full picture from the garage. I suspect this may be a safety issue, and wonder if I have been put at risk?

Garage has been very good and helpful, no complaints with them.
