98 1.9 ABS warning light-diagnosis broken ABS pump - BeemerCoupe
My ABS warning light is on and this has contributed to my failed MOT. The garage says it requires a new ABS pump (a new one is 1042, the car is proably worth 1300!!). Can I get a second hand one and can anyone reccomend where from and who would be willing to fit one in the Cheshire area?? Any idea what this would cost?

I would get your existing unit repaired. This is a fairly common failure on this model .It is not the pump at fault, but the electronic circuit board that it is attached to.Contact Avilec ,car electronic sevices. They are in Cowes ,Iow.hth

Get them to remove the unit from the car and send it to the people I have suggested. They usually do a 48hr turn around service.hth
