Top Gear Thread - Volume 42 - DP
Watched episode 2 on iPlayer last night. Very entertaining. I'd heard about the chaos they caused in Oxford on local travel news a few weeks ago. "Blocked by the Top Gear team in a broken down home made car". Gave me a laugh as I sat on the M3 anyway.

It's getting a little repetitive perhaps, but I love the humour and I love the format (SIARPC bit aside). The BBC won't change it or can it. It is their most successful show, ever, with an estimated global audience of over 350 million people. Who, let's face it can't all be wrong.

Keep it coming. Great 'brain-out' entertainment for a Sunday evening. :-)
Top Gear Thread - Volume 42 - Ben10
Going by the figures above, if accurate, it has been a success. Maybe, but that is based on previous series that had a lot more of "Top Gear" in it.
It is tettering on the tipping point of going down the pan if it continues to dominate the hour with ridiculous items like Geoff. I don't mind a section of the programme on items like this but to fill the whole hour, almost, is a recipe for many of those millions to switch off through boredom.
It's not a motoring programme anymore, more of a platform for the 3 ameigos and their inflated self importance.
It is a grin, at times, but not Top Gear or Top Drawer.
I agree the CIARPC needs replacing.

Probably the most reasoned response from Ben- I'm sick of JC, who was once had credibility as a serious car journo, trying to look gormless (which he succeeds) for most of the programme whilst increasingly silly japes are acted out, so I've stopped watching it. It's dumbed down telly. I didn't like LOTSW either as they scraped the bottom of a very deep barrel as increasingly embarrassed Peter Sallis stretched at the elastic.

Yes I fell asleep during the first episode, As you say Pugugly it's like LOTSW but with out the comedy!
Autocar's roadtest of the TG's Hammerhead Eagle - Dynamic Dave
Some of this actually makes for funnier viewing than the boys could manage on TG.
