01 1.8 Replacement clutch - paulley76
This year will be the fourth in a row in which i have had to replace my clutch.
Have used non-Ford parts each time and was speaking to a friend who told me that I could put a clutch from a diesel Focus in, giving me a stronger clutch that will hopefully last me longer.

Is this possible and if so, what specific clutch would I need?

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

This must be the way you drive. Tell us more, do you do a lot of stop starts all day. Regards Peter

My partner is a care assistant so does stop/start frequently.

Forgot to mention in first post that it needs changing this time because the crank oil seal has gone and therefore oil is contaminating the clutch. The first clutch was replaced by Mr Clutch, this one went within the year and was replaced by them as it turned out to be a faulty item.

Their second clutch went again, this time outside of the years warranty so I spent £300 replacing it, using a clutch and clutch kit from unipart and £200 in labour for Mr Clutch to fit it.

Any ideas?
