I'm about to sell one of my toys after much soul searching. It's going to a good home and I was made an offer I really couldn't refuse.
The thing is, do you have to tell the insurance company you no longer have the vehicle? The reason I ask is I only renewed the policy a month ago and if I cancel there is no refund. It's highly likely I'll be getting something to replace it in the not too distant future which would be a simple case of change of vehicle on the policy.
Any suggestions?
Regards, cc.

You have to tell them.
And in my experience you always regret taking 'an offer you can't refuse'.

You have to tell them. Imagine if the buyer does not insure and then has an accident. They will find you were the insured and you'll have all that sort out for a start.
I am sure if you contact the insurer you can agree something- there's no refund so maybe they can flag you as not having a car until you tell them you do once again.

I was rather hoping you wouldn't say that
I'll really miss it
Having second thoughts

Checked my classic policy - mentions it can be frozen if car is sold.

I sold my Westfield seven years ago. I'm still in automotive mourning and it wasn't even a classic. Sob.....

You should treat yourself to another toy, Humph.
SWMBO was quite surprised when I told her I was letting my baby go.
I swear I could hear carpets and curtains cogs whirring.
Must sort out a replacement PDQ... ;-)
