Cars in the beer ad during World Cup game ? - oldnotbold
Anyone able to tell me the models of car and van used in the beer ad that was shown in the half-time break during the England-Andorra game? The participants "changed" vehicles each time they drove through a tunnel. I think the car was an Alfa from the 60s, seemed similar to a model used in The Day of the Jackal.

Moved from IHAQ as it is Motoring related ! - oh and a free bump

This is the one when the young woman and older man (in the nice car) swap with the chap with chickens in the lorry? Isn't that the Stella advert for 4% beer?

Apparently: "two supporting posters in the campaign were designed by film illustrator Robert McGinnis, who was responsible for the classic 60s James Bond posters, Breakfast at Tiffany?s and Barbarella."

And the van? Not thought about it or looked really but I was going to guess a Citroen of some sort.

And could it be a 102/2000 without the chrome?

You didn't cheat accurately enough. Alfa's are not called Spyders, they're called Spiders. :p

Spyder seems to be a Germanic thing, although strangely I think Maserati might use it.

From another forum, where the same Q was asked:

"It's [the van] an IMOSA 800, a Spanish development of the DKW 700 Scnellaster. IMOSA, based in Vitoria, was set up in 1950 to produce the DKW light vans, at first with the two cylinder, then with the three cylinder DKW engine. In 1960 it produced this local development which featured a new bonnet design and an electric starter."
