07 1.4 Erratic Running - greenock mist

My car is fitted with the 1.4 Peugeot / Ford TDCi diesel engine. The car has been great until now. The problem I am having is when I am driving the engine suddenly loses power briefly and then it picks up just as quickly again. My very helpful local Mazda dealer diagnosed defective 'boost valve'. However, despite fitting a new boost valve, the problem persists and the engine still loses power briefly and once the clutch is dipped and the engine revved it is back to normal. None of the warning lights on the dash illuminate when this occurs. Has anyone had the same problem. I am hoping to take the car on holiday soon and my confidence in it on the wane. Thanks
